TODAY IS EARTH OVERSHOOT DAY! A DAY OF EARTH-CONSCIOUS REFLECTION ON HUMANITY'S OVERUSE OF NATURAL

resources.

This year, 2021ce(common era), shows that up to today, 7/29/2021ce (+24 days from 2020ce)Humanity has used up what Earth provides for us in non-renewable natural resources. From 7/29/2021ce to 12/31/2021ce our planet is in Overshoot mode. We have once again overshot what Earth freely provides. In 2020ce, last year, the EARTH OVERSHOOT DAY was Aug./Human E. 22! (-24 days from 2019ce) Why? Because of Covid-19 we stayed home and used less resources world-wide so we gained 24 days!! In 2019ce ironically the EARTH OVERSHOOT DAY was this date today! 7/29/2019ce. In 2018ce it was 8/1/2018ce (+3 days from 2019ce).

2018ce=8/1 or 153 days of Overshoot til 12/31/2018ce

2019ce=7/29 or 156 days of Overshoot til 12/31/2019ce

2020ce=8/22 or 132 days of Overshoot til 12/31/2020ce

2021ce=7/29 or 156 days of Overshoot til 12/31/2021ce

Please use these facts, definitions ,and information to celebrate the lives each of us have, the gratitude we share for our planet's resources, and this deep call to become more Earth conscious of our situation today on this annual Earth Overshoot Day! Cheers, Tom Spiritbringer www.theuniversestorycalendar.org

OVERSHOOT =

is the all-encompassing threat to sustainability posed by too many people

consuming too many resources and emitting too much waste.

RESOURCES CONSUMED

Decimated fisheries [90% of large ocean fish gone]

Shrinking forests and habitat loss

Climate change due to CO2 content in atmosphere[Global Warming only one factor]

Draining lakes, rivers, and aquifers

Erosion and nutrient depletion of our soils

Depletion of critical non-renewable natural resources

Acid content in oceans increasing

Widespread pollution of our land, and waterways

Massive species extinctions
